CERRU’S Fifth Annual Social Identity Fashion Show: Fashioning Our Identities

Cosponsored by NYU CLACS and QC Textiles and Apparel Department

Who gets to decide your identity? Each model will show two looks: the first representing the identities that society assumes about them, and the second look representing the identities they claim for themselves.

Once the models have walked, the audience will be invited to engage in an interactive social identity activity to experience part of the model/look process.

The night will continue with a Caribbean themed dance party, free dance class, and a mash-up of rhythms by DJ Mario Robles.

Come explore fashion, identities, enjoy tasty food, meet new people, and come learn some new dance moves.

$5 suggested donation but no one turned away due to lack of funds.

This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at NYU in partnership with the Dreams & Defiance: A World Re-Imagined exhibition and program series, and the QC Textiles and Apparel Program

Please RSVP on our Eventbrite if you are coming so we make sure we get enough food for everyone.
